2nd session of ‘Ubuntu Linux Training Prog’ held

SRINAGAR, May 19: On the instructions of Chief Justice M. M Kumar and Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir, Judge Incharge e-Court committee, the second session on “Ubuntu Linux Awareness-cum-Training Program under Change Management” for the Judicial officers of District Court Srinagar was held at High Court Complex here. The training was conducted by Master Trainers Rashid Ali Dar, Pr. District & Sessions Judge Baramulla and Parvaiz Kachroo CJM, Ganderbal.
The key purpose of the Training Program was to aware the Judicial Officers on the use of Ubuntu Operating System and other applications which are open source and can be easily installed. This Operating System has low virus threat, very stable, secure and having an enormous free software library. Ubuntu Operating System loads quickly on any computer. One of the biggest advantages of Linux is its built-in driver set, or rather the ability of automatically downloading and installing them.
Such programs will enhance the confidence of Judicial Officers in making use of ICT tools. All the Judicial officers working in the field have been benefited from the training programs which will in turn help in making speedy justice delivery system.
Abdul Wahid, Director J&K State Judicial Academy was also present during training at High Court Complex Srinagar. Syed Zulfikar Incharge NIC, High Court of J&K at Srinagar and e-Court Technical Staff namely Shahnawaz Ahamd Wani and Faheem Manzoor extended all the technical support in making the program successful.
