JAMMU, May 19: Galaxy Cricket Club will take on Samar Cricket Club in the final of the Baisakhi Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Diamond Cricket Club at High School, Simbal Camp, here.
Earlier, in the second semifinal played today, Galaxy Club defeated Diamond Club by 5 wickets in an easy contest.
Batting first, Diamond Club scored 109 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 8 wickets. Aditya Partap Singh was the top scorer with 40 runs off 52 balls including 4 boundaries, while Inder and Navdeep contributed 14 and 11 runs to the total. For Galaxy Club, Sumit claimed 3 wickets, while Narinder bagged 2. Jaanu and Amar claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Galaxy Club scored the required runs in 18.2 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Shonku was the top scorer with 43 runs, studded with 4 fours and one six, while Narinder, Jaanu and Parveen contributed 27, 20 and 10 runs to the total respectively. For Diamond Club, Gurdev, Mahadeep, Parmeet, Mani and Ajeetpal claimed one wicket each. Shonku of Galaxy Cricket Club was adjudged man of the atch for his brilliant knock.
The match was officiated by Kulbir Singh (PEM) and Harcharan as umpires, while Ginni was the scorer. The tournament is being held under the supervision of GS Michael, organizing secretary of the tournament.
