REASI, May 19: A National Environment Campaign, sponsored by Ministry of Environment and Forests, was organized at Government Middle School, Vijaypur, here today.
The theme of the campaign was ‘Biodiversity Conser-vation’. The event was marked by a variety of activities including symposium, painting competition, formation of seed bank and a rally involving participation of local community members and students of different schools of the area, so as to spread awareness regarding conservation of environment.
In symposium, Preeti Devi, Preeti and Neha Devi of Government Middle School, Vijaypur secured first, second and third position respectively.
In Painting competition, Madan Kumar stood first, Vishal claimed second position, while the third position was jointly shared by Pankaj Kumar and Rahul.
Subhash Chander Sharma, ZEO Reasi, was the chief guest on the occasion, while Jaswinder Kour, lecturer, DIET, Reasi presided over the function.
Mohd Akram Khan, District coordinator WWF was special guest.
Members of NGO, Sangam Theatre Group Reasi were also present at the event.
Vote of thanks was presented by Rakesh Mengi.
