JAMMU, Feb 6: District Netball Championship, organised by Netball Association of Jammu under the aegis of Netball Association of J&K, commenced at Indoor Hall Bhagwati Nagar, here today.
The opening day witnessed league rounds of the competition in different age groups of boys and girls in under-17, under-19 and seniors.
The two-day event was declared open in the presence of guests of honour, Vikas Gupta, general secretary J&K Judo Assoc-iation and member JKOA, Danish Sharma, secretary, Kalarippaytu Ass-ciation of J&K and Tarun Uppal, social activist, who interacted with the teams.
Earlier, the chief guest and other distinguished guests welcomed by the general secretary of Netball Association of J&K, Mr Rajiv, who presented a brief note of the activities of the association.
In total, over 200 participants were there to represent different teams in three age categories.
International referee and international player, Akash Batra was Technical Director, whereas Amit Sharma, Rohan Verma, Rahi Verma, Nishant Khajuria, Akshwan Thappa, Aniket Singh, Tushar Gupta, Aryan Gupta, Tushar Arora, Vageesh, Aditya and Siddharth Gupta were among technical panel.
