SRINAGAR, Feb 7: Police today arrested 2 drug peddlers in Kulgam and recovered psychotropic substances and Rs 3200 cash from their possession.
Police said that the officers at a checkpoint established at village Kharpora intercepted two suspicious persons identified as Ghulam Mohd War resident of Arwani Bijbehara & Waseem Ahmad Tantray resident of Kujjar Frisal.
“During checking, officers were able to recover psychotropic substance (10 bottles of Chlorpheniramine Maleate and Codeine Phosphate) and cash amount of Rs 3200 from their possession,” police said.
Police said that both of them have been arrested and shifted to the police station where they remain in custody. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 06/2021 under relevant Sections of law stands registered at Police Station Yaripora and investigation has been initiated.
