UDHAMPUR, Feb 9: Demanding road connectivity and drinking water facility, villagers of Upper Thanua protested in front of the office of District Development Commissioner Udhampur, here today.
The protesting villagers raised slogans against district administration Udhampur for its failure to provide road connectivity to their village and drinking water facility there.
They alleged no connectivity to their village as condition of the road is so bad that no one can’t walk properly on it with the result sick old persons and pregnant women are not able to reach District Hospital Udhampur.
These villagers further lamented that they deprived of drinking water supply by the PHE/ Jal Shakti Department. “Even as the matter was repeatedly brought into the notice of concerned authorities, no action was taken. We have also staged protests many times to highlight our grievance but no action was taken in this regard till date,” said the villagers.
After staging protest, the villagers also submitted a memorandum in this regard to the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur.
