Gani lifts Roun-Domail Kesari Dangal title

KATRA, May 21: Defeating wrestler Sunil Kumar of Haryana in the 31-minute main bout, Punjab wrestler Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla lifted 42nd Annual Roun-Domail Kesari Vishal Dangal title, here today.
The event was organized by Thill Roun-Domail Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at Roun-Domail in Udhampur, under the supervision of president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Numberdar Dharam Singh Ranyal, president of the Dangal Committee.
Winner Gani was awarded with cash prize of Rs 21,000 along with Patta, while a cash prize of Rs 15,000 was given to runner-up wrestler Sunil Kumar.
The 2nd main bout was won by wrestler Gourav Raina of Himachal Pardesh who defeated wrestler Benia of J&K Police of Basantgarh. Rs 20,000 cash prize was awarded to winner wrestler Gourav Raina while Rs 15,000 was given to runner-up wrestler Benia. Third bout was won by Sukha of Rajasthan who defeated wrestler Somveer of Rohtak in Harayana. Rs 9,000 was given as cash prize money to Sukha while runner-up wrestler Somveer got Rs 6,000. 4th bout was won by Sagar of Delhi who defeated Atul of Rohtak. 5th bout was won by Vikas of Khanna who defeated Yodha of Atari (Amritsar). 6th bout was won by Sukha of Khanna who defeated Ranjeet of Ludhiana. Bout played between Tinku of Delhi and Mohd Jakker of Sarore (Jammu) ended in a draw. 44 bouts were played in a one day long wrestling competition.
Incharge SSP Udhampur Benam Tosh was the chief guest on the occasion, who alongwith president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India Shiv Kumar Sharma distributed prizes on the occasion.
