Conduct census of OBC masses: Organizations

JAMMU, Feb 10: A joint meeting of different organizations was held under the chairmanship of Murari Lal Balgotra.
The meeting was attended by Kasturi Lal Basotra, Chairman OBC Mahasabha, Bansi Lal Choudhary, Convener of OBC Mahasabha, Ashok Kumar Basotra, Senior Advocate J&K High Court and members of All J&K OBC Mahasabha, AIBCF J&K Unit, All J&K Welfare Association, Jammu and Kashmir Kashyap Rajput Sabha, J&K Prajapati Sabha, J&K Sain Samaj, J&K Lubana Samaj, J&K Vishwakarma Sabha, J&K Dhobi Biradari, J&K Bowria Community and J&K Bazighar Biradari.
In the meeting, Rajinder Kumar Sikka, President of J&K Sain Samaj disclosed that the last census of OBC of the country was conducted in 1931 and according to which the population of JK UT OBC was 32 per cent. He added that there is no separate column in census-2021 for OBCs which proved the promise of Ex-Home Minister and Union Defence Minister false.
Audhiya Kumar Manawa, President J&K Prajapati Sabha disclosed that denial of census of OBCs by Union Government will compel the OBC masses all over the country not to participate and cooperate with Registrar census.
The organizations have appealed to the Union Government to conduct the census of the OBC masses along with census 2021 in the entire country.
“We will hold peaceful protests and rallies at tehsils and district levels for this issue”, said Ram Lubiya, President Kashyap Rajput Sabha Peer Mitha Jammu.
Others, who spoke were Raj Kumar Chalotra, General Secretary, Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha and Vice President AIBCF, FC Satia, President AIBCF and General Secretary of Prajapati Sabha, Sumitra Devi, President, Bowria Biradari, Balwant Katria, Kewal Krishan Fotra, Secretary J&K Sain Samaj, etc.
