JAMMU, Feb 11: A labourer from Uttar Pradesh was found hanging today in his shanty in Sainik Colony area of city outskirts.
“The body of Raghav (38) son of Manorath, resident of Godriya (UP), was found hanging this morning from an iron rod in the roof of his shanty at Sainik Colony,” a police official said.
He said on getting information, a police team from police post Sainik Colony reached the spot and shifted the body to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where after postmortem, it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
“In this connection, inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC was initiated at concerned police station and further investigation started,” the official added.
