Vimarsh guides YCB to semis of Gufran T20

DODA, May 22: Vimarsh Kaw’s 82 runs and wickets helped Youth Combine Bhaderwah (YCB) to sail into the semifinals of the ongoing All India 9th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship, being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament is being sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd and Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda.
Earlier, in the first quarterfinal match of Group (A), Youth Combine Bhaderwah defeated Madhya Pradesh Cricket Club (MPCC) by four wickets.
Batting first after winning the toss, Madhya Pradesh Cricket Club set a target of 118 runs for the loss of six wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Achal Aggarwal remained top scorer with 49 runs while Kuldeep Pal contributed 27 runs to the total. From Youth Combine Bhaderwah, Vimarsh Kaw was most successful bowler with two wickets, while Touqeer Malik also scalped two wickets.
In reply, Youth Combine Bhaderwah reached the target in the 15th over by losing 6 wickets, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Vimarsh Kaw was the top scorer with 82 runs, while Tahir Shapoo contributed 18 runs to the total. From Madhya Pradesh Cricket Club, Rupinder was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 5 important wickets, while Hitesh took one.  Vimarsh Kaw of Youth Combine Bhaderwah was declared as man of the match for his all-round performance who was presented cash prize and trophy by Chief Advisor (LIC) Nisar Ahmed Zargar, who was the chief guest on the occasion.
The match was officiated by umpires Sanjay Singh and Dharmesh Bhardwaj, while Rinku Badoria acted as the scorer.
