SAMBA, Feb 19: Director General Youth Services and Sports Dr Saleem-Ur-Rehman declared open Inter-district UT level Under-19 Volleyball Championship at Rani Suchet Singh Sports Stadium, here today.
During the function, DYSSO Samba Kiran Jyoti aloing with DYSSO Bandipora, Gh Qadir Bhat and participants from all districts of UT of J&K were present.
The welcomed address was given by DYSSO Badnipora and presented memento and bouquet to chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the DG YSS said that sports is the inseparable part of every human being and the youths of J&K must be encouraged for taking sports as integral part of life.
He also laid emphasis upon games, sports and maintaining a healthy lifestyle by keeping our children away from drugs addiction. Flag hosting, March past event, vivid cultural programmes, skits and songs were presented by the participants during the inaugural ceremony.
