KPs launch electronic campaign for revival of Sharda script

JAMMU, Feb 20: Kashmiri Pandits in general and Sharda Lipi section of Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra (SSK), Bohri, Jammu in particular raised an electronic campaign for revival of Sharda script by sending emails to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister, Amit Shah here, today.
According to SSK Jammu, hundreds of emails have been sent to the Prime Minister and Home Minister regarding revival of Sharda script and induction of Shardalipi in schools of J&K Union Territory at primary level.
“Emboldened by your dynamism, good governance, accommodating attitude, helping approach and innate decency, we the Kashmiri Pandits in exile, dare to make one submission with a sanguine hope that it may be acceded to at your esteemed end.
We compliment for reintroduction of Indian thought of educational system through declared new national education policy 2020-2021. We the Kashmiris are waiting since centuries, for revival and recognition of Sharda script, the original script of our mother tongue, Kashmiri to restart primary education of our future generation in the said script and language, needless to mention that scores of institutions are presently engaged in the process of propogating Sharda script and the response is overwhelming,” said an email sent to PM by Sharda Section of SSK.
“We are hopeful that our humble appeal will fetch a very favourable attention at your august hands,” email added.
Prominent among those who have sent the emails included a panel of Shardalipi experts of SSK namely Sanjay Pandita, A K Khazanchi, SK Kandroo, Bansi Lal,
M L Raina, Satish K. Pandita, AK Trakroo, Bal Ji, Santji Thusoo, Sushil Jad, GL Koul, Susheel Pandita, Ajay Bhat, besides Avtar Krishan Kaw, general secretary, Mata Bhadrakali Trust and Suresh Koul from Shakar Sahib Trust.
