JAMMU, Feb 20: UT level Hockey Competitions for Boys Under-17 & 19 years, organized by District Youth Services & Sports Office Jammu, got underway at New Campus University Ground, here today.
In under19 years boys category, District Poonch beat District Kathua by 3-0 goals wherein Mugal, Amandeep Singh and Jagmeet Singh scored one each goal, whereas in 2nd match, District Srinagar defeated District Jammu by 4-1 via-tie breaker in which Arun Pal, Faroz, Amanpreet & Harjot Singh netted one goal each.
In under-17 years, District Poonch trounced District Baramulla by 5-1 goals in first match wherein Jagmeet scored two goals, Akash Sudan, Ujjwal and Moosom Ahmad one goal each, whereas District Jammu got better of District Kathua by 7-0 goals. Jyotbir Singh & Kirandeep Singh scored three goals each and Supreet Singh clinched one goal.
The matches were officiated by penal of experts of the department concerned.
Dr Saleem-Ur-Rehman, Director General, Youth Services and Sports (DG YSS) J&K UT visited the venue where competitions were organised and interacted with the participants of Hockey teams. He was welcomed by DYSSO Jammu, ZPEOs of District Jammu, technical officials and all the committees with officials of District Jammu.
The DG-YSS was accompanied by Daud Iqbal Baba, Director Physical Education University of Jammu, Joint Director YSS Kashmir and ZPEO Baramulla.
All arrangement of boarding & lodging for participants was arranged by the DYSS at Sarasvati Dham, Railway Station Jammu.
