JAMMU, May 23: District Jammu thrashed Kishtwar by a huge margin of 98 runs in the Divisional Level Inter-District Under-16 Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Degree College Ground, Poonch.
Earlier, batting first, Jammu scored a decent total of 152 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Sahil Lotra scored brilliant 54 runs, Sahil Mahotra and Jagandeep contributed 23 and 15 runs to the total respectively. For Kishtwar, Bilal Malik claimed 3 wickets, while Yasir and Bhuran took one wicket each.
In reply, Kishtwar bundled out for a paltry total of 53 runs in 15.5 overs. Sheikh Obair (11) was the only batsman to cross double figure mark. For Jammu District, Rohit claimed 3 wickets, while Pavit Singh and Jagandeep bagged 2 wickets each, and Chandervir Singh and Sanchit Dass claimed one wicket each. The team is being accompanied by Madan Mohan as coach.
Meanwhile, in another match played today, Poonch crushed Samba by a huge margin of 168 runs. Poonch scored a big total of 180 runs, while Samba bundled out for humiliating 12 runs.
District Development Commissioner Sajjad Ahmed Khan was the chief guest on the inaugural function, while District Youth Services and Sports Officers, Mohd Ayaz Khan was present on the occasion.
