Woman killed in collision of two vehicles

JAMMU, Feb 22: A woman was killed today in the collision of two vehicles in Arnia area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a tractor (with trolley) bearing registration number JK02BX-9415 driven rashly and negligently by an unknown person, hit a scooty coming from opposite side near brick kiln at Chak Jagtu and killed the pillion rider Kamlesh Devi wife of Subash Chander of Pasgal (Bishnah), on the spot.
He said driver of the tractor escaped from the spot but acting swiftly a police team of police station Arnia led by SHO Inspector Harjeet Singh under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan, traced and arrested the accused tractor driver, who was identified as Manish Kumar son of Mohan Lal, resident of Jinder Melu.
In this regard, a case FIR Number 14/2021 under Sections 279/304 A of IPC was registered in police station Arnia while the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites after getting postmortem at SDH Bishnah.
