Inter-District Yoga competition held

REASI, Feb 27: Inter-District UT level Yoga (AAG) Boys competitions were organized by Department of Youth Services & Sports Reasi at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Sports Complex Katra, here today.
The event was inaugurated by Romesh Kumar (IAS) Chief Executive Officer Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Katra, whereas Jatinder Gupta Commandant CRPF 6th Battalion and Kuldeep Singh SDPO Katra were the guests of honour on the occasion.
Shiv Kumar Sharma president Indian Style Wrestling Association India, Rakesh Wazir (president Hotel & Restaurant Association Katra) and Rajesh Sharma Nodal officer SMVD Sports Complex Katra were special guests.
DYSSO Reasi, Subash Chander Sharma welcomed the chief guest, special guests, participating teams and the members of selection committee and briefed about the tournament.
The chief guest while addressing the participants said, “Yoga is an individual gift of India’s ancient tradition, it embodies unity of mind and body, thought and action, restrain and fulfilment of harmony between man and nature and a holistic approach to health and wellbeing.”
It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness in you. One can also adopt Yoga for his wellbeing and also adopt as a sports to represent his School, District, and State at national and international level, he stressed.
About 117 participants of eight districts took part in the event. The event was officiated by Anubhav Dev, Rajesh Bandral, Ashoka Kumari and Himanshu Sharma under the supervision of PTI DIET Reasi, Romesh Mishra.
Saroj Bala, Romesh Chander, Sandeepan Sharma, Opinder Pal Singh, Pawan Kumar, Jaswant Singh, Jugal Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Jasbir Kour, Anjali Sharma, Harpreet Kour, Sahil Sharma, and Mohd Arif and All REK were also present during the opening ceremony of Yoga championship.
