JAMMU, Mar 1: J&K Thangtha Association organised two days District Level Thangtha Championship at Manhas Sabha Paloura here today.
The championship was declared open by Uhay Bhanu Chib, President Pradesh Youth Congress, J&K who was the chief guest on the occasion. Chairman JKPYC Sports Cell, Ranjoot Singh was the guest of honour.
While inaugurating the two-day championship, Uday Chib appealed to the youth to participate in the games and showcase their hidden talent while shuning the social evils like drug addiction which have ruined the society at large and addicted youth in particular.
“Instead of falling prey to these drug peddlers, our children must participate in different sports,” he asserted.
Uday said that the benefits of sports are numerous and can impact lives in profound ways, besides promoting health and wellbeing, builds confidence, and can help maintain mental health.
Ranjoot Singh appreciated the Thangtha Association and J&K Sports Council for organizing the sports event for the welfare of the youth and sports lovers. He said that this move would go a long way in building sports centric ideology for our youth.
