POONCH, Mar 1: Inter District UT Level Taekwondo Competition for all age group girls organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports concluded here at Indoor Hall of Sports Stadium.
Poonch District emerged overall winner in this Competition by winning U-14 and U-17 titles. Budgam District remained winner in U-19 category, while Jammu District remained runner up in both U-14 and U-17 categories.
Around 129 girls from 8 districts took part in this mega event.
On the valedictory function, DDC Chairperson Tazeem Akhter was the chief guest, who along with guest of honour Prem Parkash Luthra and special guests Nirdosh Kumar Incharge Manager Sports Stadium Poonch and Diya Naz presented medals to winner and runner-up teams.
Earlier, DYSSO Mohammad Qasim presented the welcome address and presented the detailed report of the competition.
Huriya Amber, Misbha Fatima, Anjum Paravan, Vanshika Sharma, Rabia Anjum, Simerpreet Kour, Lakshmi Salaria, Vidushi, Vishaka, Janvi Choudhary, Khushi, Maryam Akhter, Afsana Akhter, Sabiya, Musthaq and Khadija won Gold medals.
Simran Sadeeq, Shakira Yakoob, Sadaf Hamid Butt, Yasmeena Jan, Urooja Musthaq, Sania Hilal, Shaista Rashid, Manpreet Kour, Misbha Talib, Summaiya Rasool, Surpreet Kour and Sahiba Zahoor clinched Silver medals.
Khalida Jabeen of Poonch District was adjudged as Best Player in U-17 category, Saimran of Jammu District as Best Player in U-14 category and Zubana of Srinagar District as Best Player in U-19 category.
All bouts are held under the technical supervision of Rajinder Singh Physical Education Teacher, who was also the Convener of this mega event.
Technical panel comprised Mukta Gupta PET, Pushap Thakur, Nitin Rathore, Farooq Ahmed Malik, Sandeep Kumar, Amit Kumar, Pawandeep Singh and Mohammad Waqar, all REK.
The selection committee was headed by Atul Pangotra PET International Referee WT, Shabir Ahmed Lone PET, Rajinder Singh PET and Barinder Manhas PET.
Among others present were Surinder Singh ZPEO, Narinder Singh ZPEO, Amresh Kumar PEM, Vijay Kumar PEM, Sarla Bakshi PEM, Harjeet Kour PEM, Batichiter Singh, Sanjay Misri PEM, Sourav Sharma PET, Matinder Pal Singh PET and Amit Sharma Organizing Secretary PDTA.
