UDHAMPUR, Mar 2: Two days UT level Inter-District Football Tournament for Boys under 14 years was inaugurated at Subash Stadium, here today.
Major Kirti Tiwari OIC Dhrona Boys Hostel was the chief guest on the occasion while Pawan Kumar and Ram Lal Badyal (Retd ZPEOs) were guests of honour.
About 208 players from 16 districts of UT of J&K are taking part in this tournament.
The UT level tournament is being organized under the patronageship of Dr Saleem-Ur-Rehman, DG YSS J&K Govt, chairmanship of Dr Piyush Singla, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur and under overall supervision of Swaran Singh, DYSSO Udhampur.
The matches were officiated by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raj Kumar Dogra, Raman Kumar, Rakesh, Kulbhushan Singh, Naveen Singh from Kathua, Harvinder Singh from Jammu District, Miraz Din from Baramulla, Ishang Bandral, Vipin Photra, Ravi Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Chander Kiran and Gopal Krishan.
All the proceedings of the programme were conducted by Jaswinder Singh, Rakesh Khajuria, Bhoopinder Singh and Sanjay Gupta.
District Ganderbal defeated District Shopian by 3-0 goals, whereas Baramulla beat Doda by 9-0 goals and Pulwama trounced Jammu by 3-0 goals besides Bandipora got better of Udhampur by 3-1 goals, while Anantnag defeated Kathua by 4-0 goals and Kupwara trounced Budgam by 1-0 goal.
Among others who present during the occasion were Laxmi Kant, Arvind Kumar (I/C PEL), Ashwani Kotwal PEL, Ramesh Chander, Anita Goswami, Sanjeev Kumar, Parshotam Kumar, Jatin Sethi, Karun Magotra, Sanjeev Kumar Khajuria and field staff of the department concerned.
