POONCH, Mar 7: Poonch Premier League (PPL), organised by EHSAAS Foundation got underway at Sports Stadium, here today.
Two league matches were played between Poonch Panthers and Poonch Ligers and Poonch Smashers and Poonch Super Kings.
Batting first, Poonch Ligers scored 104 runs in 18.2 runs. Kulwinder and Pervaiz contributed 27 and 17 runs respectively. From bowling side, Rishab was the wrecker in chief who took four wickets.
In reply, Poonch Panthers chased the target in 14 overs with the loss of three wickets and registered win by seven wickets. Jameel and Rishab scored 39 and 22 runs. Rishab was declared as man of the match for his outstanding all round performance.
In 2nd match, Poonch Smashers defeated Poonch Super Kings. Poonch Smashers made 129 runs by losing nine wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Deepak made highest 34 runs while Usman scored 24 runs. From bowling side, Farooq bagged three wickets for Super Kings, whereas Nisaar and Shaband clinched three and two wickets respectively for Poonch Samshers.
The matches were officiated by Rajinder Singh Toofan, Sanjay Misri, Davinder Dabur, Ajmeer Singh, Navjot Singh and Manzoor Lone, whereas the tournament is being organised by Pervaiz Malik Afridi, chairman of EHSAAS Foundation.
