Police Sports Meet gets underway

JAMMU, Mar 9: Inter-Battalion Sports Meet, organised by J&K Police got underway at Gulshan Ground, here today.
Various events including Wushu, Judo, Shooting, Fencing and Archery were organised today.
In Judo (60 kg), Ajay Singh, Zulufqar Ali and Ashok Kumar won gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, whereas in 66 kg, Rohit Kumar, Younis Ahmed and Amit Rajput clinched top three medals and in 73 kg, Anil Sharma, Rajinder Singh and Rahul Singh bagged top three medals besides in 81kg, Mohd Ishfaq, Rakesh Singh and Ankush Sharma secured gold, silver and bronze medals, while in 90kg, top three medals were won by Gulshan Singh, Pawan Singh and Nakul Saroch respectively and in 100kg, Razaq Ahmed, Sukh Dev and Showkat Ahmed clinched gold, silver and bronze medals besides in plus 100 kg, Darshan Kumar, Rakes and Romit Kumar bagged top three medals respectively.
In fencing sabre women category, Aasiya Shehzada won gold and silver medals while bronze medals was shared by Zeraina and Priya, whereas in epee team men, Hardish Sharma, Ankaj Partap and Sumit Sharma shared gold medal, whereas Sukhvinder Singh, Ankleshwar Manhas and Rohit Chib shared silver medal and bronze medal was jointly clinched by Sunny Choundhary, Inder Singh and Rahul Sharma respectively and in foil team men, Chahat Singh, Vishap Jamwal and Anil Sharma shared gold medal while Sajad Ahmed, Roshan Kaith and Lukmaan Khan jointly secured silver medal and Kamaljeet Singh, Sudesh Kumar and Joginder Singh shared bronze medal.
In sabre team men, Sunny Choundhary, Inder Singh and Rahul Singh shared gold medal, whereas Sahil Gupta, Romi Sharma and Amarjeet Singh shared silver medal and Sukvinder Singh, Ankleshwar Manhas and Rohit Chib shared bronze medal.
In shooting men prone position (100 mtrs), Krishan Lal, Kripal Singh and Banu Partap clinched top three medals, whereas in rifle 100 mtrs kneeling, Kripal Singh, Mohvish Jasrotia and Syed Khalid bagged top three positions.
In rifle 100 mtrs prone women position, Sonika, Asiya and Nisha won top three medals, whereas in 100 mtrs kneeling, Sonika, Komal and Pooja won top three positions.
In 25 mtrs standing position men, Sidhant Sharma, Parvaiz Ahmed and Mohit Sharma secured top three medals respectively, whereas in 15 mtrs squatting position, Parvaiz Ahmed won gold medal, Harish Singh and Shubham Seth clinched silver and Tarun Gandotra won bronze medal and Charan Singh and Randeep Singh secured gold and silver medals while Mangal Singh and Krishan Lal shared bronze medal besides in carbine 40 mtrs standing, Vijay Kumar, Abhishek Chahal and Pritam Singh bagged top three positions and in carbine 50 mtrs kneeling women, Priya Devi and Shahzada won gold and silver medals.
In archery 50 mtrs men, Sunil Kumar, Sukhvinder Singh and Abhishek Chahal secured top three positions, whereas in 30 mtrs, Munish Jasrotia, Vinay Sharma and Sheesh Paul clinched top three positions and in overall category, Kapil Bhagal, Shubham Dubey and Pradeep Kumar bagged top three positions respectively besides in 50 mtrs women, Pooja Devi-I, Pooja Devi-II and Nirmal Devi secured top three positions, while in 30 mtrs, Usha Devi, Sudesh Kumari and Shahzada Akhtar won gold, silver and bronze medals and in overall category, Pooja Devi, Usha Devi and Pooja Devi-II secured top three positions.
In Athletic 400 mtrs relay race, Chandan Singh, Vipan Kumar and Amrish Sharma and Shabir Kumar stood 1st, whereas Manzoor Ahmed, Rayees Ahmed, Rajesh Kumar and Lucky Sharma remained 2nd and Zariat Hussain, Rohit Singh, Vishal Khajuria and Balwan Singh clinched 3rd position, whereas in 200 mtrs, Amrish Sharma, Vinod Sharma and Rohit Singh bagged top three positions respectively.
In high jump, Mohinder Kumar, Ashish Bhadwal and Nawaz Ahmed claimed 1st, 2nd and 3rd spots by jumping 146.5 cm, 146 cm and 146 cm respectively, whereas in long jump, Chandan Singh (5 mtrs), Mohd Arif (4.82 mtrs) and Lucky Sharma (4.77 mtrs) stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
