SAMBA, May 27: Division Level Inter District Volleyball Championship for girls organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports commenced today at Government Girls High School, Ghagwal.
The tourney was declared open by Jarpal Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, in which 8 teams are vying for the trophy.
On the first day today, Udhampur thrashed Poonch by straight 2-0 sets in the semis and registered berth in the finals of under 14 category. Earlier, district Udhampur thrashed District Doda by 2-0 sets, Poonch District routed Kathua District by 2-0 sets and Rajouri District outplayed Jammu District by 2-1 sets.
In under 17, District Kathua beat District Rajouri by 2-1 sets, Poonch District thrashed District Doda by 2-0 sets, Samba District crushed District Udhampur by 2-0 sets, Jammu District defeated Reasi District by 2-0 sets.
