22 bovines rescued

SAMBA, Mar 10: Ghagwal police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 22 bovines and arresting two smugglers.
According to the reports, a team of police station Ghagwal while performing naka checking duty NHW Tapyal (Ghagwal) intercepted a truck trailer bearing registration number UP22AT-0816 which was coming from Kathua side.
During checking of the vehicle, 22 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission. The accused driver identified as Akeel Ahmed Sson of Shakeel Ahmed of Bilaspur-Rampur (Uttar Pradesh) and his associate Mohd Taseem son of Sabbir Ahmed of Pipal Sana (Ahatmali-Moradabad, UP) were arrested on spot.
All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting bovines was also seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR Number 58/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act, 184 MV Act was registered at police station Ghagwal and further investigation taken up.
