487 HCs promoted as ASIs

SRINAGAR, May 28: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Abdul Ghani Mir today ordered the promotion of 487 Head Constables to the rank of Assistant Sub-Inspectors, a police spokesman said here.
“Earlier, 140 Assistant Sub Inspectors were promoted to the rank of Sub Inspectors in the month of April this year by Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone”, the statement said.
The Departmental Promotion Committee headed by IGP, Kashmir, Abdul Ghani Mir today met at Zonal Police Headquarters, Srinagar wherein 487 Head Constables were promoted to the next rank of Assistant Sub Inspectors in the pay scale of Rs.5200-20200+GP 2800.
In his message to the newly promoted officers, the IGP congratulated the officers and their families for their promotions and impressed upon them to work with more dedication and devotion for the welfare of the people.
IGP said that the promotions, besides, offering cheer to the officers also brings in more responsibilities on their shoulders. He said that they should work tirelessly in meeting the expectations of the people and the department.
On April 25, 2013, 140 Assistant Sub-Inspectors were promoted to the rank of Sub-Inspectors.
