JAMMU, Mar 15: 18th Dr Surinder Singh Memorial Golf Tournament was organized at BSF Golf Course Paloura Camp, here today.
The tournament was inaugurated by Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor in presence of NS Jamwal, IG BSF Jammu, whereas Shashi Singh wife of Late Dr Surinder Singh was the special guest.
A total of 91 golfers participated in the tournament, wherein gross winner award was secured by RS Jaswal, whereas runner-up trophy was clinched by Garib Dass, IGP J&K and net winner trophy was bagged by Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar besides net runner-up trophy was won by Sanjeev Pathania.
In senior citizen category, net winner trophy was secured by Arun Sharma and net runner-up by SD Singh, whereas VK Zadoo stood winner in gross senior citizen category and runner -up trophy went to Dr SS Jamwal besides longest drive award clinched by VM Singh Commandant BSF while nearest to pin award was claimed by Vinod Sharma.
Straight drive award went to Hari Lal DIG BSF, whereas maximum par trophy was secured by Dr Anil Slathia and max birdie award was won by R S Jaswal.
Sushila Devi Kamal remained best lady putter winner, whereas runner-up trophy was won by Mala Broca and second runners up award was clinched by Arti Batra.
‘Hole in One’ for the year 2020 was secured by Colonel Ramesh Chander, NS Jamwal IG BSF Jammu, Rohit Bhalla, Raghav Wahi, VK Zadoo, whereas Neeraj Saxena, AC (works) received trophy of hitting an eagle.
This tournament is conducted every year in the memory of then IG BSF Jammu Frontier, late Surinder Singh who shaped this Golf Course in present format and made it a prestigious golf course of Jammu city.
