JAMMU, May 29: On the request of Jammu University Vice-Chancellor, the protesting Class-IV employees and Casual Labourers have announced to temporarily exempt the Hostel employees from purview of their ongoing strike.
According to Krishan Chand Sharma, president of JU Non Gazetted Employees Union, the Hostel Mess employees are being allowed to continue work for the next two days as a goodwill gesture for resolving the issue amicably. He said the NGEU has always kept its doors open for negotiation and it were only JU authorities that forced them to resort to agitation.
Meanwhile, on 17th day of their ongoing token strike, the class IV employees, Casual Labourers and Safai Karamcharis took out a peaceful protest rally on the campus and raised slogans in support of their demands.
