District Athletics C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Mar 17: Rajouri District Athletics Championship, organized by District Rajouri Athletics Association with the collaboration of Department of Physical Education Govt PG College Rajouri under the aegis of J&K Amateur Athletics Association and J&K Sports Council, concluded with prize distribution function, here today.
Dr Shakeel Ahmed Raina was the chief guest of the prize distribution function along with Prof Mohd Tufail and Rakesh Puri, Physical Director of the College. They presented prizes among meritorious students.
Captain Tanwir Ahmed, Assistant Physical Director PG College Rajouri welcome the chief guest, participants, officials and other distinguished guests, whereas Sahil Raina organising secretary, Zaffar Iqbal, Mohd Parvaz and Mohd Zaheer were among the judging team.
About 228 Athletes of the District Rajouri participated in the event which was organised under the supervision of Captain Tanwir Ahmed. Overall trophy begged by Govt.PG College Rajouri.
In under-20 (100mtrs), Mohd Mukhtar and Shahid Hussain clinched 1st and 3rd positions while 2nd position was shared by Ayaz Khan and Mohd Parvez Musharaf, whereas in 200 mtrs, top three positions were secured by Ajaz Ahmed, Mohd Zaffer and Altaf Hussain respectively and in 400 mtrs Ishtaq Hussain, Pushvinder Singh and Sharoz Khan clinched 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions besides in 800 mtrs, Azhar Subhani, Imtiaz Ahmed and Faisal Rehman bagged top three positions respectively while in 1500 mtrs, top two places were won by Amjed Hussain and Mohd Zakir while Mohd Shabab Malik, Mohd Raza Ul Haq and Sajad Ahmed shared 3rd place.
In senior category (100 mtrs), 1st and 2nd places were won by Mohd Irfan and Waseem Akram while Redham Bakshi and Azhar Hussain jointly won 3rd place, whereas in 200 mtrs, top two places were clinched by Madasser Azeem and Mohd Anwar Ul Haq while 3rd position was shared by Mohd Danish, Ravinder Singh and Ghulam Mustafa and in 400 mtrs, Mohasin Ali stood first, Mohd Shakeel and Irfan Hussain remained 2nd and 3rd place was won by Mohd Maroof and Waqarat Hussain besides in 800 mtrs, Ishtaiq Hussain and Mehmood Khan stood 1st and 2nd while Sagar Singh and Aditya Sanehi remained 3rd while in 1500 mtrs, Qabal Hussain bagged first place, while 2nd place was clinched by Mohd Ashfaq, Mohd Younis and Irfan Hussain and Imtiaz Hussain won third place.
In shot put, Mohd Sahil secured 1st place while Kartik Sareya and Amit Kumar clinched 2nd place and 3rd position was bagged by Ghulam Mustafa.
