Cardamom futures extend losses as demand declines

NEW DELHI, May 30:  Cardamom futures prices fell further by 1.53 per cent to Rs 718.60 per kg today, as speculators reduced their positions, driven by a weak trend at spot market on lower demand and increased supplies.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June declined by Rs 11.20, or 1.53 per cent, to Rs 718.60 per kg in business turnover of 2,004 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in July traded lower by Rs 9, or 1.18 per cent, to Rs 751.20 per kg in 230 lots.
Market analysts said traders reduced their positions on the back of weak trend at spot market on subdued demand mainly helped cardamom futures to trade lower. (PTI)
