JAMMU, May 30: UPA led Government has started many women welfare schemes to empower the women at all levels.
This was stated by All India Mahila Congress President Anita Verma during a meeting of Mahila Congress workers organised by Rani Gargi Blowria, Member Legislative Council (MLC) at Sidhra.
She advocated for strong laws for the protection of the women in the society and also for 33 per cent reservation to them in the present political system.
Verma asked the party cadre to gear up to reach to its grass root level.
Earlier, Rani Gargi Bilowria, Member Legislative Council (MLC) presented the welcome address and threw light on the importance of the women in the society.
Among others present were Lalita Joshi, vice president, All India Mahila Congress, Kanta Bhan, Pushpa Shastri, Lalita Sharma, Padmini Langeh, Santosh Manjotra and Raj Bakshi.
