UDHAMPUR, May 31: Acting swiftly, Udhampur Police arrested an auto driver soon after he snatched purse of a passenger and fled away in his three-wheeler in Udhampur today.
Identity of the snatcher has been established as Omkar Sharma of Ward number 16, Udhampur. Police have also seized his auto rickshaw.
According to police, one Girdhari Lal (Accounts Officer) approached Police Station Udhampur with a complaint that he was robbed off by an auto driver who snatched his purse containing Rs 11 thousand while paying him fare near District Jail Udhampur.
Acting on the complaint, SHO Udhampur Deepak Jasrotia swung into action and raided a number of places finally arresting the accused.
