JAMMU, Mar 26: Secretary J&K Sports Council Nuzhat Gul interacted with Junior Women Hockey team in a function, organised by Hockey J&K at KK Hakku Stadium, here today.
The team is going to participate in the upcoming 11th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship, which is scheduled to be held at Simdega Jharkhand.
Secretary J&K Sports Council was the chief guest of the event. Speaking on the occasion, she emphasized to train the women in such a manner that she herself gets empowered without any external support.
She quoted the Gurbani quote, written by Guru Nanak Dev ji “So Kyun Manda Akhiye Jit Jamen Rajan” means why to call them (women) inferior from whom. She asked the players to excel and make the name of nation as well as J&K proud.
She assured that the replacement of Astroturf and other civil works at KK Hakku Stadium will be completed in mid June of this year in a time bound manner.
The Secretary also distributed sports kits among players in presence of Dr Zafar Iqbal, Chief Accounts Officer JKSC, Ashok Sharma Deputy Director STC and Ashok Singh Divisional Sports Officer Jammu.
Rajinder Singh Kuku, general secretary Hockey India and Rajeev Sharma working president Hockey J&K graced the event along with 150 women Hockey players.
