JAMMU, June 1: Tengpora Football Club (FC) and Polo View FC scripted resounding wins over their rivals on the inaugural day to advance in the ‘B’ Division League Football Tournament 2013, being organized by District Football Association Srinagar at Polo Ground and Islamia College Ground, here.
Earlier, in the first match, Tengpora FC defeated Leonard FC by two goals to one (2-1) in a good contest. Shafqat pelted the first goal from Tengpora FC in the 11th minute of the match. However, Rayees from Leonard FC scored an equalizer in the 16th minute. Tengpora FC came back strongly and succeeded in scoring a goal in the 29th minute to win the match by (2-1).
In another match, Polo View FC, rode on a hat-trick by Shayq to thrash Al Furkan FC by five goals to nil (5-0) in a one-sided contest. Shayq scored the goals in 2nd , 9th and 39th minutes, while the other 2 goals were netted by Faisal and Pavan Ghale.
The match was inaugurated by Dr Habibullah Zargar in presence of MY Labroo and Tariq Madni.
