Speaker inspects proposed site of Legislature Complex’s addl block

SRINAGAR, June 3: Speaker Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul today directed the concerned authorities to formulate a comprehensive project report for construction of Additional block of Legislature Complex, Srinagar and submit the same to the concerned quarter at an earliest so that funds could be arranged for the purpose.
This direction was given by the Speaker during his inspection to the proposed site of Additional Block here today.
Legislators, Mohammad Khalil Bandh, Mir Zahoor Ahmad and Secretary Assembly, M. Ramzan accompanied the Speaker.
The Speaker directed the Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) to install semi-circle type sign board on main gate of the Assembly Complex, Srinagar immediately. He also directed the authorities of Floriculture Department to maintain the western side of the premises of the Legislature complex on priority by installing multi-flower sampling pots. Mr. Gul said that ATM will be installed in the complex soon.
Earlier, the Speaker chaired Committee on Library Meeting convened to discuss the overall functioning of the Committee and problems faced by the Assembly Secretariat due to inadequate accommodation.
The Speaker said that provision is to be kept for library and reading room in the additional block on priority.
The Speaker directed the officers of Assembly Secretariat to complete cataloguing of all available books immediately so that the same could be brought on website of the Assembly Secretariat which is to be launched soon.
