Doda, June 6: Prashant’s 29 runs and one wicket helped Friends Cricket Club Ghat of Group (C) to sailed into the quarter finals of the ongoing All India 9th Gufran Memorial T-20 Cricket Championship 2013 being played at Sports Stadium Doda. The tournament was organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda and sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd and Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Doda.
Earlier batting first after winning the toss, Doda Sports Club set a target of 139 runs for the loss of all their wickets in their stipulated 20 overs game. Mohsin remained top scorer with 37 runs while Nasir Dev contributed 28 runs to the total. From Friends Cricket Club Ghat, Rohit was the most successful bowler with three wickets while Prashant take one wicket.
In reply, Friends Cricket Club Ghat attained the goal making the winning run on the fifth delivery of the 18th over for the loss of eight wickets. Prashant was the highest scorer who scored 29 runs followed by Shahdab Wani who contributed 27 runs for the team. From Doda Sports Club, Mohsin and Khalid clinch five and two wickets.
Later on Prashant of Friends Cricket Club Ghat was declared as Man of the Match for his best all rounder performance.
The match was officiated by BCCI Ranji Trophy Umpire Subhash Mathur and Ifroz Rather while Shahid Pampori acted as official Scorer.
