DG Sports felicitates 85 National Players

SRINAGAR, June 6: To encourage the talented players of various schools and prepare them for the competitions at higher levels, the Director General Youth Service and Sports awarded 85 National Level players of Srinagar district in a function held at Youth Hostel, here today.
Director General Sports (DG), Naveen Agarwal while distributing awards in shape of cheques among the players, announced that the Department is going to organize a national level Under-14 T20 Cricket Tournament in the State this season.
Agarwal assured all the support to the budding players of State and also thanked Principals of different schools, parents and physical teachers for upbringing the talent of players.
In all, 120 players from Kashmir division have participated in various tournaments organized by School Games Federation of India (SGFI) in 2012-13, in which 85 players were from Srinagar district.
