GHS Balhama lifts title trophy

JAMMU, May 30: Government High School (GHS) Balhama trounced Chenab Club Zewan in a tough contest to lift the title trophy in the Volleyball ‘B’ Divisional League Series, namely Youth Development Volleyball Tournament 2012, organized by JKAP XII Battalion Zewan Srinagar, which concluded at Armed Police Complex Zewan, here. GHS Balhama has now qualified for forthcoming ‘A’ Divisional League Series.
Earlier, in the summit clash, GHS Balhama got better of Chenab Volleyball Club Zewan in two straight sets by (25-13) and (25-23) in a close contest.
The match was inaugurated by Rouf-ul-Hassan, IGP Armed/IR Kashmir, who was chief guest on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were T Namgyal, DIG AP Kashmir, Ranjeet Kanwar, SP Commandant IR 19th Battalion, RS Jamwal, SSP Commandant IR 11th Battalion and Ali Mohd, Principal Sidique Public School, Zafran. The participating teams included Govt High School Balhama, Chenab Club Zewan, Sidque Public School Zafran ‘A’, Sidque Public School Zafran ‘B’, Dare Devils Zewan, Young Boys United ‘A’ Balhama, Young Boys United ‘B’ Balhama and Noor-ul-Huda Educational Institute Zewan.
T Namgyal distributed prizes among the winners and runner-up teams on the occasion, besides presenting uniforms and kit bags to both the teams. MS Punoo, SP Commandant, JKAP XII Battalion was also present on the concluding ceremony.
