Jammu Ministers call on CM, discuss power crisis

SRINAGAR, June 11: A team of Ministers from Jammu including Sham Lal Sharma, Raman Bhalla and Ajay Sadhotra today had a meeting with Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here.
They discussed various problems which have cropped up in Jammu due to prevailing heat wave and drought like situation.
The Ministers apprised the Chief Minister of the problems of people regarding supply of drinking water and electricity besides other associated  difficulties. They also raised the issue of repairs of transformers and adequate power supply to SSI units. They highlighted the need for gearing up the concerned agencies to ensure relief to the people during the current heat wave.
Omar Abdullah issued instructions to the concerned for taking early measures to restore burnt transformers and increasing quantum of electricity to the people so that they get immediate relief. He also directed for measures to ensure supply of power to PHE installations to improve the drinking water supply to the people.
The Chief Minister directed the concerned for taking urgent steps for providing power to SSI units.
