Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 19 cattle rescued, 2 arrested

JAMMU, May 23: Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 19 cattle and arresting two persons.
As per police sources, teams from Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli laid nakas in their jurisdictions and intercepted three vehicles bearing registration numbers JK22A-8788, JK14E-8642 and JK02CJ-7152.
During checking, police teams rescued 19 cattle from the vehicles and arrested two persons, who were identified as Mohammad Rafiq, son of Ghulam Mohammad of District Ramban and Tariq Ahmed, son of Mohammad Sharief of District Shopain.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Stations Nagrota and Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
The arrest and recoveries were made by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Showkat and SHO Jhajjar Kotli Inspector Devinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh.
