JAMMU, May 28: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) has demanded restoration of supply of oxygen gas to the industrial units as their production has been badly hit.
An emergency meeting of Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) was held today under the presidentship of Lalit Mahajan in presence of Tarun Singla, senior vice president, Ajay Langer vice president, Viraaj Malhotra general secretary, Rajesh Jain secretary and Vivek Singhal, treasurer of the BBIA to discuss the non-availability of Oxygen gas to a number of Industrial units using it in production process resulting their production has been stopped as the Administration has imposed ban for the supply oxygen cylinders to such units. It is feared that a number of units may suspend their production resulting retrenchment of Industrial workers in the present COVID-19 situation.
Mahajan drew the attention of Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha and Ranjan Prakash Thakur (IRTS) Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department, that at present the Oxygen manufacturing Plants have the spare capacity to supply the Oxygen gas by refilling Cylinders of Industrial Units over and above the requirement for the Medical grade oxygen and it is the need of the hour to start the supply of Oxygen gas to the Industrial Units who are closing since last one month due to non availability of gas.
BBIA requested the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Ranjan Prakash Thakur (IRTS) Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department, for the grant of permission to Oxygen manufacturing units to refill the cylinders of Industrial units using Oxygen as one of the basic component for the manufacturing of their finished goods.
