SAMBA, May 28: A thief decamped with Rs 22,000 from an old person running a shop at Chak Manga Rakwal near here, today.
As per reports a motorcyclist asked an elderly person who was running the shop for change of Rs 500 note. The person gave him the change and kept the purse in which money was lying on the counter of his shop and started some other work. The thief decamped with the purse in which Rs 22,000 were lying but the entire action as caught in CCTV camera.
As the shopkeeper could not find his purse he raised an alarm. The family members came out and searched here and there. Then they watched the CCTV footage in which the motorcyclist was caught decamping with purse. They lodged a complaint with the Samba police which is investigating the matter.
