BSP pays tributes to Babu Milkhi Ram

JAMMU, June 16: Bahajun Samaj Party today paid rich tributes to Ex-MLA and Advocate, Late Babu Milkhi Ram, on his birth anniversary. Chairing a party meeting here in the premises of its State Headquarters, BSP State president, Tulsi Dass Langeh, remembered the contributions of Babu Milkhi Ram in lifting the downtrodden sections of the State and paid floral tributes to him. Elucidating the struggle of Babu Milkhi Ram Ji for the cause of the downtrodden people of the State, he described him a true patriot. Throwing light on the struggle of Babu Milkhi Ram, Langeh said, being a member of working committee of Dr BR Ambedkar’s Republican Party, Milkhi Ram launched a struggle for extension of job reservation rules in the State for Scheduled Castes by holding dharnas, demonstrations, processions and hunger strikes time and again. It was all due to his continous efforts efforts and determination that in 1973, 8% reservation was granted in favour of SCs of the State, BSP leader added. RL Chargotra, Rakesh Wazir, Rattan Kumar Bhagat, Charan Dass, Tilak Raj Bhagat and many others also spoke on the occasion.
