JAMMU, June 16: A large number of Diploma Engineers today met under the leadership of Upinder Singh to highlight their demands.
While addressing the meeting, Singh called for broader unity among the various wings of Engineering Department to get their demands redressed from the Government.
He informed that recently a team of Diploma Engineers led by him submitted a memorandum to Government pertaining to their demands, which included restoration of entry level grade from 5000-8000 to 6700-10500, two promotions to every Diploma Engineer before retirement, restoration of JE Grade1, enhancement of fixed TA from Rs 30 to Rs 5000 per month and maintenance of cadre strength at all levels.
