NEW DELHI, June 10: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC ) in a meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of its president Kundan Kashmiri reiterated it’s demand for one place settlement of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community in the land of Kashyap in the Kashmir Valley.
Kashmiri said none of the displaced KPs is ready to return to previous locations or clusters on the dictates and directions of others after 31 years of their exile as return to clusters will expose them to security risk and nothing except one place settlement in the Valley is acceptable to the community.
Kashmiri said that return of displaced KPs is a serious and sensitive issue and needed to be dealt sensitively and appealed all not to play with sentiments of KPs. He said nothing has changed for them so for and they are the direct victims of terrorism and social injustice for the last 31 years. Neither anti–national elements were prosecuted who made the community homeless nor the killers of the KP community were punished for their barbaric acts. Not any judicial inquiry was conducted about our forced exodus, ethnic cleansing and our killings during the turmoil, despite repeated requests made by the community from time to time.
KPC chief further said that recent killing of Rakesh Pandita at Tral, Kashmir is an eye opener for those who are pleading for KPs return to previous locations and clusters.
He said that KPs one place settlement at the land of Kashyap in Kashmir Valley is the only viable solution which could also prove helpful in solving the so-called Kashmir issue.
