Big GK JKCPL constitutes BoD, OC; holding bidding of players today

SRINAGAR, June 18:  The Big GK Jammu and Kashmir Corporate Premier League (JKCPL), which has already got the nod of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), to be organized in association with Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Players Association (JKCPL), has constituted its Board of Directors (BoD) and the Organising Committee (OC) in a meeting attended by over 50-members at Peerzoo Islands, here today.
The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the League, Farooq Amin of Kanwal Group, among others was attended by the key players and the mentors of most of the teams, who gave their suggestions regarding smooth and successful conduct of the cricketing extravaganza.
The meeting unanimously elected Sheikh Imran of Kehwa Group as the official spokesperson and secretary Media and Public Relations.
The 9-member Board of Directors will be headed by Farooq Amin as chief Executive Officer.
The Organizing Committee framed in the meeting included Abdul Qayoom Bagow as its general secretary and organizing secretary of the event, Rajesh Dhar and Mansoor Ahmed Lone as the joint secretaries and Manzoor Ahmed Dar as the technical advisor, while the mentors and the key players of all the teams will be the executive members of the League. Nisar Ahmed Khan was elected treasurer of the League, while the CEO was the unanimous choice to head the Organising Committee as the president.
Meanwhile, the meeting decided to hold the bidding of the players at Hotel Taj Vivanta, here tomorrow.
It is pertinent to mention here that the bidding of the players was earlier scheduled to be held on June 17, 2013, but due to some technical modifications, it was postponed for tomorrow.
“”The main objective of the League is to provide ample opportunity to the state cricketers to hone their skill and talent and help them blossom at the higher levels. Moreover, the League aims at producing more and more cricketers to represent the state in Indian Premier League (IPL) and allied tournaments, ” said spokesperson Sheikh Imran.
