MP, Mayor lay foundation stone of pathway, green space

JAMMU, June 15: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta along with Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member Parliament of Jammu Poonch Constituency laid foundation stone of development work of pathway and green space from Pawan Ice Cream Parlour to PHE Mechanical Sub Division Shakti Nagar, here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that in order to provide more eco friendly atmosphere for the inhabitants of Shakti Nagar and its surroundings localities who comes here for morning and evening walk on routine basis, this much needed work on about 1 km area was started today under “My Town My Pride” project.
The visiting dignitaries were also apprised by the concerned Engineers regarding major components of this prestigious project including beautiful landscaping, construction of protection wall on the bank of canal, installation of grill, laying of flower beds, fixing of comfortable benches for sitting purposes, commissioning of rain shelter, placing of dustbins at suitable sites and installation of proper lightening system in this park to avoid any type of darkness in the evening hours.
The MP Jugal Kishore Sharma appreciated the initiatives of the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and all the Councillors who are working as a team for the overall development of the Jammu city and assured that he will also provide every possible help to the JMC for the completion of left over projects.
Prominent persons including Adv Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor JMC, Choudhary Surinder Singh Councillor, Prem Gupta, Atul Bakshi, Sahil Sharma, Bawa Sharma, Karan Sharma, Kishore Kumar Executive Engineer, Ashish Bhasin AEE and Susheel Mangotra JE of Division II were also present during the event.
