JAMMU, June 18: The fast unto death of Panch Suresh Sharma against the Sarpanch of Pathwal Panchayat entered 5th day today.
A group of ten Panches of Panchayat Pathwal sat on protest and one of them Suresh Sharma sat on fast unto death in the premises of Block Development Office, Hiranagar in support of their demand of dismissal of Sarpanch and demanded an enquiry against him.
Following the situation, the Rural Development Department Kathua initiated an enquiry into the matter. But protesting Panchayat member showed dissatisfaction over the Committee and demanded dismissal of Sarpanch.
On the other hand the opposite Sarpanch, Kaka Ram of Panchayat Pathwal also came forward with his supporters and sat on protest against the opposite group. The Sarpanch demanded fair and impartial enquiry into the matter so that this dispute may be resolved at the earliest as it is damaging the Panchayat.
