JKP, PDC Blue register berth in semis

SRINAGAR, June 20: Jammu Kashmir Police (JKP) and PDC Blue crushed their respective opponents and advanced to the semifinal round of the ongoing State Football Championship, being organised by J&K State Sports Council and J&K Bank Limited at Polo Ground, here today.
In the first quarterfinal match, Jammu Kashmir Police (JKP) outclassed Iqbal Sports by straight 6-0 goals.
In the first half, Asif of JKP netted the goal in the first minute and raised the scorecard by 1-0 goal.
In the 27th minute, Yasir Ahmed of JKP scored the goal and brought the opponent team under extreme pressure of two goals to nil (2-0).
Just after 5 minutes of the second goal, Sandeep with his good footwork netted the goal and further raised the scorecard to 3-0 goals.
Asif of JKP again bounced back and scored the goal in 35th minute, followed by another goal by Ajay Kumar in the last minute of the first half.
Till the end of the first half, JKP was leading with five goals to zero (5-0).
In the second half, players of Iqbal Sports strived hard to clinch the match, but all their strategies failed before the enthusiastic JKP players.
In the 73rd minute, Yasir Ahmed of JKP netted the goal and raised the scorecard to 6-0 goals.
In the last ten minutes, the players of Iqbal Sports were looking dominated and thus lost the match by 6-0 goals.
In the second quarterfinal match, PDC Blue defeated Jammu XI Football team by two goals to zero (2-0).
Bilal of PDC Blue netted the goal in the 15th minute of the first half, which the opponent team failed to equalize the scorecard and the first half ended with 1-0 goal.
In the second half, players of Jammu XI played mind games, but all their strategies proved a failure, when Rohit Kumar netted the goal in the 60th minute and raised the scorecard to 2-0 goals.
After 60th minute, Jammu XI players failed to score even a single goal and the match ended with 2-0 goals.
In tomorrow’s fixture, J&K Bank will take on AG Office Football team in the quarterfinal, whereas J&K Forest XI will lock horns with J&K Bank Academy.
