Challenger CC beats Shiva CC, sails into semi-finals

JAMMU, June 24: Singh Challenger Cricket Club trounced Shiva Cricket Club by 33 runs in the ongoing First Pitamber Lal Sharma Memorial Cricket Tournament and sailed into semi-finals round, played at Govt Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, here today.
Singh Challenger CC won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first the Singh CC scored 150 runs on the loss of nine wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Manav Mehta made highest 53 runs whereas Jimmy Manni scored 37 runs and Stiphen Sotra contributed 20 runs. For Shiva CC, Rohit Gupta, Sahil Sudan and Arush Chandan shared two wickets each, whereas Atul Gupta got one wicket.
In reply, the Shiva CC bundled out at 117 runs in 17.3 overs, Rahul Sharma made 28 runs, Dheeraj Kumar scored 22 and Arush Chandan contributed 20 runs. From bowling side, Stiphen Sotra got three wickets and Abhinandan Sharma, Manav Mehta and Amit Rajput clinched two wickets each, whereas Rajinder Sharma bagged one wicket.
Manav Mehta was declared as Man of the Match. Vikas Bali and Sumit Rajput were umpires and Dev Pal acted as scorer. The tournament is being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor under the overall supervision of Kr Sham Singh Langeh (General Secretary JKCA District Jammu).
