4 robbers wanted in Chadwal incident held

KATHUA, June 1: With the arrest of four robbers from different locations, the police claimed to have solved Chadwal robbery case.
SSP Kathua, Atul Goel said these four robbers attacked a shopkeeper Nek Ram, son of Sain Dass, resident of Chhann Ranga a few days back. They attacked this Chadwal based trader when he was returning home during late evening after closing shop. They attacked him with lathis on head and left him there nearly dead and escaped with his cash and other electronic items.
Mr Goel said a special investigating team headed by Addl SP Kathua, Zahid Manhas , SDO Border Kamaljit Singh, SHO Rajbagh Surinder Khadyal and SI Rajesh Gautam from Police Post, Chadwal was constituted. During course of investigation several suspects were lifted and placed under interrogation. On the basis of phone calls and details from Mobile companies, some youth were listed and rounded up. These boys were placed under questioning and broke during their sustained interrogation. They were finally arrested.
They were identified as Robin Dub (21), son of late Uttam Chand of Chadwal, Vinod Sharma alias Binni (19), son of Madan Lal of Kathua, Ankush Sharma (19), son of Ashok Sharma of Chhann Dityal, and Varun Khajuria (20), son of Mukhtiar Chand of Chhan Dityal. They confessed their involvement in the case. The victim is struggling for life in a Punjab hospital.
The accused confessed that they snatched Rs 1.90 lakh from Nek Ram after attack and distributed the amount. A pulsar motor-cycle used during crime and a Maruri car purchased by Robin from his share, was also seized by police. A computer and CPU along with keyboard was recovered from Ankush. The money was also recovered from them, Mr Goel added.
