SK Academy celebrates 1st anniversary

JAMMU, July 5: Quoting example of Shubham Khajuria, J&K’s First Class cricketer and Under-19 India player, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Raghav Langer said that the meritorious and passionate sportspersons like him can serve Jammu and Kashmir better in imparting quality training to the young players to produce international stuff from the Union Territory.
He said this while speaking at a function organised by SK Academy to celebrate its 1st anniversary at Cooperative Public School, here today.
Langer, who was chief guest on the occasion, was accompanied by Shubham Khajuria, Mentor; BS Manhas, president of Cooperative Public School Committee; Pardeep Khajuria, father of Shubham Khajuria; Vijay Dogra, Coach and Manager Pankaj, besides a good number of trainees.
While addressing the media persons, Mr Langer said that genuine sportspersons know the importance of sports and games and can differentiate between professionalism and commercialism.
He said a genuine and professional sportsperson will always promote professionalism and not commercialism as real sportspersons are the messengers of peace and harmony.
On the sidelines of the function, Shubham while addressing the media persons said that Jammu and Kashmir has immense sporting talent and the best way to explore it is to provide sufficient and qualitative infrastructure.
He said if former outstanding sportspersons take the task of training five to 10 players each, Jammu and Kashmir will become a sports hub in near future.
He further said the sole aim of opening Academy was to provide proper infrastructure and quality Cricket which has been my passion and not the commercial purpose.
Finally, Mr Manhas presented a memento to the chief guest as a token of gratitude from the organisers.
